It is a beautiful thing to watch young students showing interest in Greek earth treasures. Alongside IEK PRAXIS ( https://www.iekpraxis.gr ) students and chef Thodoris Papanikolaou we learn to distinguish mushroom, truffles and leaf vegetables as well as the techniques about safely collecting them.
The day carried on with a visit to the Kostas Lazaridis Winery Museum in Oinotria location, where the chef and students cooked using freshly collected mushrooms, vegetables and truffles following a wine tasting and a tour to the museum.

What better drive than our common passion for the mushroom world? Together with a group of mushroom and truffle lovers from Switzerland, we spent our days filling our straw baskets with mushrooms and digging truffles. A fascinating quest in the captivating Arcadia region that got us closer to nature and helped us built lifetime friendly bonds. We raised a glass of Tselepos wine, when visiting the exceptional winery, celebrating an amazing, truly memorable experience!

Athanasios Diakos (Mousounitsa) was the perfect scenery for yet another mushroom and truffle adventure, this time with a new group from Israel. Together we set out to find fresh mushrooms, we learned all about the process and the Greek land’s mushrooms while seeking and finding truffles. Hygrophorus marzuolus is a martyr or simply a martyr is a mushroom with a recent addition to the gourmet world, a mushroom with a sweet and delicate flavor, tight and thick flesh, with a pleasant aroma, also very much sought after due to lack of competition during the period of fruition. It is harvested from March to May, in large groups, in shady forests, semi-abundant, just after the snow melts.
